Hello everybody!
So on Saturday, my bestie Isha and I had us a picnic. You can read all about it on Isha's blog, http://furandfilms.wordpress.com . Basically, we made some mouth watering panini's, Rice Krispie Treats (Isha's first time!), roasted sweet potatoes, chips and homemade guac, and brought grape juice, mango lemonade, and Izzies to drink. We walked like two minutes to this playground by my house and HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! We also played with bubbles and had a silly string fight. Which I lost. Horribly. Like, I climbed on top of one of those little tunnel things, and then Isha had a clear shot and I had nowhere to go unless I wanted to snap my neck falling off of that thing. It was bad. Anyway, so you ask why you should care. First of all, BECAUSE WE ARE S O FREAKING COOL FOR HAVING A PICNIC!!! But besides that, this day actually DOES relate to books. So Isha and I came back to my house and hung out for a while and played Mario Kart for like three hours, in which I totally bombed Isha. And then, we found out that my sister was going to Barnes and Noble to study with her friend, so Isha and I hitched a ride. I had a $25 gift card from winning a poetry contest (I'll post the poem sometime soon) so that was amazing. So we headed over to B&N and….stood around looking at the books for an hour. I'll spare you the gory details, but I did end up having a minor freakout in which Isha had to calm me down after finding out that A FOURTH BOOK IN THE SELECTION SERIES IS COMING OUT!!! its called The Heir, and I probably should have already known this, since you know, I have a freaking book blog, but oh well. Anyway so I ended up buying two books. And they were…..The Selection Stories and the Red Queen!!!! So I am really excited! I've wanted to buy SS for a while now, but I just never got around to it. And the Red Queen….my sister showed it to me, and I shooed her away because I was busy looking at other books. But when my sister's friend recommended it, I paid attention. I know. I'm sorry, sis. Anyway, so her friend told me that it was like all Selection/Hunger Games ish. So I decided, screw this. I'm buying it. And it is literally so pretty. It was $18, the same price as this lame picture book that Isha was reading. (She did a review on her blog. Go check it out). Heres a picture.

Isn't the cover just so amazing? I know. And it's hardback so its just amazing all around. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but when I do, I'll definitely post about it. But I HAVE finished The Selection Stories. (I'm not going to post a picture of the cover, because its not as cool, but just google The Selection Stories and there is literally 100 pictures of the same thing). The first one was from Maxon's point of view during the first book when the Selected first arrive. It was really cool because I remembered reading about the whole thing in the first book and then I got to see it all again through Maxon's point of view. Like when America kneed Maxon in his…well…touchy area. Yep, got to see that whole little episode from what Maxon was thinking. The second story was from Aspen's point of view, which is set during The Elite particularly during ******spoiler for The Elite**** when Marlee and Carter are caned for being together. (end spoiler) I didn't like this one as much because having read The One *********The One spoiler******* I know that Aspen doesn't end up with America. (end spoiler). So, the whole thing centered on how Aspen looovveed America and how much he hatttteeed Maxon. Zzzzzzzzzz. If you can't tell, I'm a Team Maxon, not Team Aspen (OMG I ALMOST WROTE JULIAN!! YOU KNOW, FROM DELIRIUM? TEAR). Is that even a thing? Whatever. But anyway, I still suggest reading this book. And this series if you haven't. One last word of advice: Go have a picnic. You don't even need to have someone come with you, or cook up fancy paninis like we did. Just go by yourself with some PB&J and haves some fun! Bye for now!
